What happened this week
By Wednesday's close the fund appeared to be falling behind the index this week, with the portfolio sitting slightly below where it started Monday and stocks in positive territory. But then two days later the order changed direction again.
On Monday it answered the question left hanging in last Saturday's review, as conditions were still not in favor of stocks, so the list continued to hold one fund outside of stocks for a fourth straight week and there was no action to take at the Monday open.
During the first three days the fund declined while the market increased in value. At the close on Wednesday the portfolio was off about one percent versus the market. On Thursday the market dropped while the fund rebounded to be close to flat. The portfolio had its best day of the week on Friday as the market declined again, ending the week up +1.6% vs -0.8% for the market. The fund made no trades during the week as the list only updates on a Monday.
In this week it was the entire answer and moved up or down on its own days. It is also the second Friday in a row that the fund rose while the market dropped. This is not a pattern in just two days.
On Sunday, I wrote that complexity is the enemy of execution while simple rules are the ones followed. This week was a micro example of that. If a list only changes on Monday then on Wednesdays nothing needs to be updated, so no action is taken.
So far the fund has been in a stretch of four weeks with three weeks outperforming the market.

The record
I have been trading the portfolio on Dub for the last 9 months, that is now valued at $64,950 after the original $30,000 investment on January 12. This week it grew by $989 from Monday.
it is all my own capital and all the trades I have been doing, since the first one, are on Dub.
Next Monday
But whether next week will be the fifth Monday in the fund or if stocks will be used, is still unknown as the conditions are read again every Monday to lock in the decision.
The weekly recap above will always be free to share the results transparently, and the performance is publicly available on Dub. On Monday the system score about 2,000 US equity stocks to selects a new portfolio to hold for the week.
